Wife Swap - Tea Party - Religion Slapp in the Face
I'm watching this show Wife Swap ABC's Wife Swap out of sheer curiosity, well maybe just needed some (don't want to think moments). The show is about two families who for two weeks trade wives. During this episode, I listen to Mrs. Loudon, the wife of Senator John Loudon (R) of Missouri. Yes the same senator who is know for raising the weekly employment amount from $250 to $350. What I find intriguing is that he is/was also known for the anit-SLAPP law a civil complaint filed against individuals or organizations arising from their communications to government speeches on in issue of public interest or concern. Most SLAPPs are ultimately legally unsuccessful. While most SLAPPs lose in court, they "succeed" in the public arena. This is because defending a SLAPP, even when the legal defense is strong, requires a substantial investment of money, time, and resources.
