Who Is She?

Image
I know the photo is a little fuzzy, but you know technology doesn't always do what we want it to.  A lot like me as a child I didn't always do what "she" told me to and many years later I paid for it.  One thing I remember about this lady is that she said, "Make sure your handbag and your shoes match".  What for, who cares I thought, until you take a photo... She would tell me in my youth, "you don't have to be available every time time the phone rings."  I thought to myself, she has got be crazy, don't she know that THE most desirable "boy" from school is going to call me?!  It was years and I mean years later when I found  my  voice to say no, I don't have to accept the first set of rims that offers me an opportunity of life filled with   unknown  garbage.  I would often open the refrigerator door and peruse the contents until I visually saw something that would complement my appetite.  There she goes again yelling about

Integrity

Image
B ased on an experience I had yesterday, I took a day for personal care.  In thinking about the events of yesterday, I was in a war with myself between self-preservation and integrity.  I looked up the word "integrity" and the definition is "… the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness." Then I looked up the word "moral" the definition is " concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character."  When faced with a dilemma at the thought of losing my job or doing that which is right and fair to the community I serve I again had to think about the community I serve. What is that I want for my community, but before that, I must ask myself am I truly committed to the community?  The answer is I want what is best for all communities whether they are in my prevue.  With that said making, the decision to do what is right for the greater good is a “no brainer”.

Black Harvard Alumnae Worry About Impact of Student Video - The Root

Black Harvard Alumnae Worry About Impact of Student Video - The Root     Not shocking at all. When folks go to the playground that used to have an unwritten "white's only" sign those that are entering the playground can't (unfortunately) expect to play with ALL the toys. Those new players should be taught the rules of the playground and again (unfortunately) learn to incorporate their toys into the playground and learn how to play with the toys that already there. One might have to learn how to play with the toys first then incorporate their own toys. Change is not always easy for the old players and/or the new players. With education, tolerance, prayer and time the playground may become a place of diversity (full diversity) not just surface value. JMT  Msconcerned's Manifesto ...
